A Little About Me:
My family and I lost our house to a fire in 1999, not even a year after I had bought it. It was an awful experience for sure, but I learned a lot, and we grew as a family because of it. The chain of events erupting from that fateful day ended up sending me into the wonderfully exciting career of as a Real Estate Consultant! You see - I used the same realtor that was selling the house to buy it, and he was just awful. I hate to sling dirt but it's true, it was really bad. You can read the whole story here if you like with all the juicy details and pics, but suffice to say that after injuring my back during the rebuilding project I had to find a new career and I knew I wanted to help people so they would never, EVER have ro go through what we had to!
So, after a long recovery after surgery I decided to get into Real Estate and help anybody and everybody I could to get GREAT service from somebody that really cares about their welfare, their needs, and the entire family's happiness.
So thats why I got into Real Estate, I have been helping my friends and neighbors buy and sell their homes ever since, and I will help between 40 and 50 new friends buy or sell a home in 2008.
I live in the Cedar Hills neighborhood in Beaverton with my wife Shelah, who I married 16 years ago on October 3rd. She won't let me put her picture of her anywhere but I assure you she is my absolute best friend in the whole world, an incredible mom, and I think the most gorgeous creature in the world. My son Taylor is 13 and my daughter Riley is 11. We enjoy as a family going to the coast to collect agate, shells, and driftwood which we transform in to custom creations just for fun.
To give back to the community I enjoy public speaking, and regularly deliver Bible based lectures all over the Northern Oregon area on a variety of subjects ranging from "Does Science Contradict the Bible" to " Does God Count You Personally Important" to " Raising you Children With Fire Resistant Materials." The largest audience I have ever spoken in front of was just under 1,100 people - Its was such a thrill!
Way back in 1989 I graduated from "Proctor J Hug" High School in Reno, Nevada where I grew up. I had a nearly full time job working nights all through school, which led to me buying my own business shortly after graduating, a residential and commercial window tinting company that covered Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe. I kept that business as well as another that I was a partner in (an office equipment sales and service company) until my wife and I decided to move to the Portland area in 1999. We wanted a change, we longed for greenery and trees, and after my back injury I wasn't supposed to lift anything heavy. I couldn't own either business and not take part in the daily tasks so I sold them both to fund our move.
Portland is our Home now, and we love it here. My commitment to every person I help buy or sell a home is the same: to treat them like I wished I had been treated when I bought and sold... with respect, and from somebody that has integrity and honor - as well as a tremendous amount of experience and skill at the important job to be done.
So with those goals in mind I got the best Real Estate Education money can buy, I trained with a mentor, became a "Certified New Home Sales Professional", went to "By Referral Only University",© took every class I could get into, and then started helping others make their dreams come true.
Today it has all paid off, I have helped hundreds of families buy and sell homes, and all my clients have appreciated the way I treat them. It helps to put your goals in front of you and those you work with everyday, so I have posted my "Mission Statement" plainly for all to see when they visit my office:
"Anybody can get the job done. It takes humility, effort, and skill to go beyond the job and provide personal, caring service that is truly memorable – truly referable. We will accomplish this level of service in every home sale we orchestrate.”
So that's pretty much it for "all about me" More important really is all about you. I would like to help you on your next move, and I will help you with every aspect of buying or selling your home, and make the experience easy for you because I’m experienced, because I’m professional, and perhaps most importantly...because I care!
